Ghent University - application procedure


In order to enrol in the postgraduate, you need to submit an application. Before applying, please check whether you meet the admission requirements:


All incoming applications are assessed by an interuniversity committee. If your application has been accepted, a selection interview will be organised to see if you are suited for the programme. During the interview, the main focus will be on: knowledge of the postgraduate, personal motivation, personal learning objectives and your interests.

We will also ask you to prepare a short assignment beforehand.


The application procedure differs on your nationality and educational background:


    You have a Flemish degree (or are in the process of obtaining a Flemish degree)


    • Fill in the online application form. We will contact you afterwards and will invite you for a selection interview.

      Deadline: 31 August

    You are an EEA student (without Flemish degree)


    Your application comprises two steps:


    1. First, you submit an online application at the university. The Admissions Office will do the necessary diploma and language checks.

      Deadline: 1 June

    2. If you've been approved by the university, you will be invited for a selection interview to see if you are suited for the postgraduate programme.

    You are a non-EEA student (without Flemish degree)


    Your application comprises two steps:


    1. First, you submit an online application at the university. The Admissions Office will do the necessary diploma and language checks.

      Deadline: 1 April

    2. If you've been approved by the university, you will be invited for a selection interview to see if you are suited for the postgraduate programme.
